James Allen (Jim) Smith, PhD ABD, has been President of Electronics Manufacturing Sciences since the company's formation in 1981.
Jim has personally set up advanced automated soldering process management systems in hundreds of electronics manufacturing plants on four continents and coordinated many other projects conducted by Electronics Manufacturing Sciences personnel.
Jim is co-author with Frank B. Whitehall of Optimizing Quality in Electronics Assembly: A Heretical Approach (McGraw-Hill Professional Publishing, New York, 1996) and wrote the monthly "Unconventional Wisdom" column in Assembly Magazine for more than 10 years. He continues to contribute to Assembly regularly.
Jim's articles about electronics manufacturing, economics, management and many other topics have appeared in more than 90 publications around the world.
